TAKUMI'S MENU - SIMPLE
WAKAME SALAD

TRADITIONAL JAPANESE COLD NOODLES (SOBA) WITH DIPPING SAUCE

Big Crunch Roll

Inari Nigiri

THANKS TO JASAPPLE, WE FLOCK TO THE RENOWNED TAKUMI.

WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO START THE BLOG WITH.
(HOWEVER THE <LAGOON BEACH SURPRISE> SHOULD BE BEFORE THIS.)

TAKUMI - THIS AMAZING JAPANESE RESTAURANT, TUCKED AWAY FROM THE BUSY KLOOF STREET, OPENED IT DOOR ON THE BUSIER (OR NARROWER) SIDE STREET OFF KLOOF, PARK ROAD.

IT'S AUTHENTIC DESIGN REMINDS ME OF THE RESTAURANTS IN ASIA. LIKE THE TRADITIONAL SUSHI PLACES, THEY PRETTY MUCH ONLY START TO COOK THE SUSHI RICE AND PUT BAIT ON THE FISHING HOOKS WHEN YOU PLACE THE ORDER, TO ENSURE THE FRESHNESS. =P  HENCE THE WAIT.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, ORDER THE SALAD, TEMPURA AND MAYBE THE COLD NOODLES (SOBA) AS YOUR STARTERS. THEY TENDS TO BE READY QUICKER OR WONDER AROUND THE RESTAURANT TO LOOK AT IT'S STYLISH DECOR'.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS, TRY TO CATCH UP WITH YOUR LONG LOST FRIEND.
THEY MIGHT CRY, BUT YOU CAN PRANK THEM.

WARNING: THEY HAVE A HUGE VERITIES! REFRAIN YOURSELF FROM ORDERING TOO MUCH. DUE TO ATTRACTIVENESS OF THE NAMES AND VALUE FOR MONEY, YOU WILL EASILY BE DOING THAT! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

TOWARDS THE END, IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH YOU MIGHT SEE THE SOUL BEHIND ALL THIS COMING OUT OF THE BASE, TO SEE HOW MANY HAPPY CUSTOMER HE SERVED TONIGHT.

FOOD NOT TO BE MISSED
BIG CRUNCH ROLL
GREEN TEA TIRAMISU

FOOD TO AVOID
NONE SO FAR

SWONAL INDEX
VERY NICE JAPANESE FOOD INDEED, HOWEVER IT'S NOT WOWIN' ME ENOUGH - 8/10

This is about..

We have been talking about starting a blog for a long time and as you may know, talking is so much easier than actually doing it! Finally we have dragged ourselves to start this blog.

Cape Town Taste Buds is about two Cape Town residents' (one boy and one girl - me!) food journal. We can be eating out, cooking in or snacking and it will all be here. Well, we will push each other as hard as we can to update regularly.

A little bit about us:

The boy - Enjoy super icy drinks and dislike most sweet things. Son of a Cantonese chef so his tongue is well trained. Love almost everything about food besides dish washing.

The girl (me) - Crazy about noodle soups (including rice noodle, soba, udon and many others). Enjoy Chinese, Korean and Thai cuisine. Got sweet tooth. Constantly worry about her weight but still snacking. Have the potential to eat more than the boy, apparently.

MOSTLY TRUE, AND SWEET STUFF JUST NOT SO MUCH MY THING.
THEY MAKES ME THIRSTY.
FUN FACT IS THAT ITS AMAZING HOW SUGARS BRING OUT THE FLAVOR OF THE DISHES, WELL IN MOST CASES.

HERE IT IS, THE CTB - CAPE TASTE BUDS!

I SUPPOSE THIS WILL MAINLY FOCUS ON FOOD, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.

HOW WILL THIS TURN OUT, I DON'T KNOW YET, HOWEVER I WILL STILL GO AROUND LOOKING FOR GOOD FOOD, EVEN MAYBE BUST A FEW TRICKS HERE.

HOPE THAT I COULD KEEP THIS UP!

CYA SOON.
